Here is what you need to know:
✓ Solid copper inside and out: no lining, no plating, no lacquer
✓ Use plain still water, room temperature or cool: tap, filtered or still mineral water
✓ Fill in the evening, drink the next day, and never keep the same water longer than 24 hours
✓ Not for hot, sparkling or acidic drinks: no coffee, tea, juice or lemon water
✓ Hand wash only: rinse with warm water, and clean with lemon juice and salt every week or two
✓ No dishwasher, fridge or freezer
✓ Darkening over time is natural patina, the sign of bare copper, not damage. Green or blue deposits mean it needs a lemon-and-salt clean before the next fill
✓ A faint copper taste is normal for some people, especially in the first few fills
A morning ritual you will look forward to:
✓ Fill it in the evening and wake up to water that has rested in copper overnight, the way Ayurveda has practiced it for centuries
✓ The cool, solid weight of hand-hammered copper in your hand, every single day
✓ A bottle that is yours alone: every hammer mark is made by hand, so no two Neera bottles share a pattern
✓ A finish that deepens month by month into a warm, natural patina, the story of your daily ritual
✓ A piece that earns its place on your desk, in your bag and on your nightstand, and ages beautifully instead of wearing out
Neera brings the ancient Ayurvedic tradition of tamra jal into modern life: a small, deliberate pause that turns plain water into a ritual.
For centuries, families across India have kept their drinking water in copper overnight. In Ayurveda it is called tamra jal. The tradition holds that copper water balances the three doshas, vata, pitta and kapha, and classical texts name copper as the vessel of choice for drinking water. Neera exists to bring that ritual into modern life, made the honest way.
✓ Real copper, nothing hidden: solid, unlined copper inside and out, backed by an independent SGS lab test
✓ Made by hand, made to last: every Neera is shaped and hammered by artisans in India, built to age beautifully for years, not to be replaced
✓ The ritual, made simple: fill it in the evening and drink in the morning, the way Ayurvedic practice recommends, after 6 to 8 hours or overnight
✓ A daily pause you will look forward to: a slower, more deliberate start to the morning and a bottle you reach for because you want to
✓ Free US shipping: every order ships free from our US warehouse and arrives in 3-5 business days
✓ Real people behind every order: we are a brand, and if anything is not right when your Neera arrives, we will make it right, no run-around, no hassle
We share the Ayurvedic tradition as it has been handed down.

Common Questions
Rinse the inside with warm water, then do one lemon-and-salt wash inside and out and rinse until the water runs clear. Fill it with plain water, let it stand overnight and pour that first fill out. A brand-new, freshly polished surface gives a stronger taste than a settled one; from the second fill on, drink as usual.
Copper is softer than steel, so a drop onto a hard floor can leave a mark. Hand-hammering stiffens the wall and hides small marks, and the Neera Canvas Bottle Bag protects it on the go. A few marks only add to the character of a handmade piece.
No. The weight of a copper bottle comes from the thickness of the sheet, not the purity of the metal. At about 9 oz for 34 oz of water, Neera is in the normal range for a hand-formed, single-wall copper bottle, and light enough to carry all day. A heavier copper bottle is thicker, not purer.
They do different jobs. Stainless steel is insulated, takes any drink and goes in the dishwasher. Neera is single-wall bare copper made for plain still water and the evening-to-morning ritual, washed by hand, and it ages with a patina instead of wearing out. Keep your steel tumbler for coffee; Neera is for your water.
It is not mold. Green spots are copper oxidation: real copper reacting with moisture and air, the same natural process that turns copper roofs and statues green. It is one of the clearest signs that your bottle is genuine, bare copper. Before the next fill, clean the green away with lemon juice and salt, rinse until the water runs clear and let the bottle dry fully.
